Convenience in Every Step: E-file Pro-rated Form 2290 HVUT Returns Online!

Hello, truckers! The IRS charges partial period or pro-rated Form 2290 reports for the heavy vehicles or trucks newly purchased or first used away from the beginning of the usual tax period. If you get a new heavy vehicle or use an existing vehicle any time away from the start of the tax period (July), you need not report or pay the taxes for the entire period. Instead, you can report the Form 2290 taxes based on the first used month of your heavy highway vehicle in a partial period or pro-rated basis. You must calculate Form 2290 pro-rated truck taxes from the vehicle’s first used month till the end of the ongoing tax period (June) and pay the taxes accordingly. The same guidelines are also applicable to tax-suspended vehicles.

We would like to remind you that the pro-rated Form 2290 HVUT returns for the heavy vehicles recently purchased or first used in March 2024 are due by the end of this month. So, we request all truckers and trucking taxpayers with March used vehicles to report Form 2290 HVUT on a pro-rated basis and get the IRS stamped Schedule 1 copy as soon as possible.

IRS Efile Servers will be Shutdown in next Couple of Weeks!

imagesHoliday Season is right around the corner, so is the Year end. January 1st will be the first blank page of a 365-page book & December 31st will the last page of 366-page book. Let’s start writing good & positive things on the new book for which we have to complete old book without any back logs. Let’s carry only good memories & happy moments to the upcoming year, not the incomplete things we leave behind in 2016.

Taxes are one thing that we always want to complete on time as it adds Excruciating actions attached to it. There are several Taxes that needs to be filed on or before December 31st, One such Tax is Federal Excise tax Form 2290 (HVUT) for vehicles first used in the month of November. Though E-filing was introduced to lessen the burden for Tax Payers, every year the IRS will shut down their E-file Servers towards the end of the year for Maintenance. During the shutdown they will neither process any Tax returns nor will they issue acknowledgements. Continue reading

A letter from Tax Form 2290

From

Form 2290

Internal Revenue Service

U.S. Department of Treasury

Washington, D.C.

To

Heavy Vehicle Taxpayers

United States of America

Dear taxpayers,

SUBJECT: Extension of HVUT return filing & Payment due date

If you have already written about your heavy vehicles on me and dropped me safely at my home through post or the internet before noon on August 31, 2012, thanks a ton. You can now happily drive your trucks until next June without any legal troubles.

The e-file system at my home in the IRS was shut down for some maintenance activity from 1.00 p.m. on August 31 through September 4, 2012. In order to minimize the impact of inconvenience on affected e-file taxpayers alone, the heads of my family have decided to extend the time for filing me to my home until September 7, 2012. So, for those of you who missed to file me before 1.00 p.m. on August 31, can now do so and pay the applicable HVUT amounts due to my family without any penalty or late fee until the 7th of September, 2012. You can do so at tax 2290 for convenient, easy and fast filing and get your stamped schedule 1 copy within minutes. If you don’t, you have to face the appropriate penalties and interests after the 7th.

I sincerely hope that there are no confusions pertaining to filing me on time now.

Yours truly,

Form 2290

P.S. Oh dear paper filers, this isn’t for you. Your deadline was August 31, 2012.
