Alright Trucking Community, its June and it is that time of the Year when you have to gear up and Pre-File Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT) Form 2290 for your Heavy Trucks. It is a well-known Fact that Any Vehicle with a gross weight of 55,000 Lbs or above must have a Form 2290 filed for it every year. The Tax Year for the HVUT Form 2290 begins in July and ends in June of the Following Year.

Unlike other Taxes that is filed after the End of the Tax Years Completion, HVUT is always filed in Advance. So the for the Upcoming Tax Year 2018- 2019 one must File the HVUT on or before the end of August. You may refer to the Schedule 1 copy you have for your Heavy Rigs, those would be expiring by the End of June.
