Correct Your VIN Instantly by E-filing an Amendment through Tax2290.com!

MistakeWhen you have Vehicle identification numbers (VIN) of up to 17 characters with mixed numbers and letters, mistakes happen. For example, you type 5 instead of S. Let’s say that you file form 2290 and pay $550 to IRS and get your Schedule 1 you take it to the DMV or the Carrier, and then you realize that the Schedule 1 has the wrong VIN. What do you do?

Thanks to IRS and Tax2290.com, IRS introduced VIN correction using form 2290 in 2009, a couple of years after introducing E-filing for Form 2290. If you make a mistake in VIN, you can send an amended Form 2290 to IRS and get the Schedule 1 corrected. But the bad news was that VIN Correction on Form 2290 can’t be E-filed, it must be printed and mailed in. It took 4-6 weeks to get the corrected Schedule 1 from IRS. IRS Efile Servers will be Shutdown in next Couple of Weeks!

imagesHoliday Season is right around the corner, so is the Year end. January 1st will be the first blank page of a 365-page book & December 31st will the last page of 366-page book. Let’s start writing good & positive things on the new book for which we have to complete old book without any back logs. Let’s carry only good memories & happy moments to the upcoming year, not the incomplete things we leave behind in 2016.

Taxes are one thing that we always want to complete on time as it adds Excruciating actions attached to it. There are several Taxes that needs to be filed on or before December 31st, One such Tax is Federal Excise tax Form 2290 (HVUT) for vehicles first used in the month of November. Though E-filing was introduced to lessen the burden for Tax Payers, every year the IRS will shut down their E-file Servers towards the end of the year for Maintenance. During the shutdown they will neither process any Tax returns nor will they issue acknowledgements. Continue reading
