Before we get on to the serious topic of IRS Yearend E-file Shutdown, www.Taxexcise.com / www.Tax2290.com – Products of ThinkTrade Inc., would like to take this Opportunity to wish you and your Family a Merry Christmas and Happy holidays. Though we know that ever busy Truckers may not find time to spend time with their loved ones but we would like to thank them for making our Holidays a memorable one, without them there would be no happy holidays for any one of us.
OK Now back to business, this time it’s really important,
It is a known fact that Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT) Form 2290 is due by December 31st, for Heavy Vehicles that was first used in the Month of November 2017, since July 2017. Normally we Truckers would like to stick on to our hard earned money till the last moment and E-file our HVUT on the Last day. But unlike other months you will not be able to do that this December.
The IRS E-file Servers will be shut down for Yearend Maintenance Starting by Noon of December 26th and any tax return E-filed after December 26th 11.59 Am will be processed by the IRS only after they resume Operations which is expected to happen only by the First Week of January 2018. However there is a catch attached to it, The IRS servers will not be Operational on 23rd Saturday , 24th Sunday and 25th Monday (Christmas Federal holiday) So the buffer time that we have on Sunday will be good enough to process only the returns that were submitted during the long Weekend.
So Tax payers are requested to E-file their HVUT Form 2290 before the Weekend that is by tomorrow, to receive their Stamped Schedule 1 Copy before the IRS Servers are completely Shut Down for the Yearend Maintenance.
