IRS E-file Servers will be down for Year-end Maintenance Soon!

There are several Taxes that needs to be filed on or before December 31st, One such Tax is Federal Excise tax Form 2290 (HVUT) for vehicles first used in the month of November. Though E-filing was introduced to lessen the burden for Tax Payers, every year the IRS will shut down their E-file Servers towards the end of the year for Maintenance. During the shutdown they will neither process any Tax returns nor will they issue acknowledgements.

File Form 2290 before Nov 30th for Vehicles first used since Oct 2018

Truckers, may we have your attention please. The Heavy Highway vehicle used tax return is now due by Nov 30th, 2018 for vehicles first used since October 2018. Hence, E-File your HVUT Form 2290 before the deadline if in case you have bought any new trucks during October 2018.

The HVUT Form 2290 is basically due by June and the deadline is August of every year. However for any new vehicles the Form 2290 must be filed before 60 days from the time the truck was purchased. Now based on this fact, the Form 2290 is now due by Nov 30th, 2018 (60 days from October 2018)

HVUT Form 2290 Tax Payment by Credit/Debit Card

Before the official beginning of the Tax Season 2018 – 2019 for Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT) Form 2290. The IRS introduced a new payment option for the Taxes, which is paying the tax due through credit / debit card. E-file HVUT Form 2290, before IRS Memorial Day Systems Shutdown!

Every Year Last Monday of May is observed as Memorial Day and it is a Federal Holiday in the remembrance of citizen’s who sacrificed their lives serving in the nation’s Armed Forces.  Very often people get confused between Memorial Day & Veteran’s Day Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving, while Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans.

Like Every Year the IRS Servers will be shut down for Memorial Day & the IRS will not be working during this Shut down period.  The IRS Systems will be down beginning Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. and ending on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 6:00 a.m. During this time No tax payer can receive any sort of acknowledgement for their E-filed Tax forms.
