The Heavy Vehicle Use Tax Form 2290 is due for renewal every year before August 31. Taxes are part and parcel of any business and it is unavoidable. One such tax filed by Truck Owners and Trucking Companies is the Heavy Vehicle Use tax (HVUT) Form 2290. This Tax must be filed annually for any heavy vehicle with a gross weight of 55,000 pounds are above. Since the tax Period for HVUT starts from July and ends in June the Tax is paid in advance by the beginning of Tax Year, the due date to have Form 2290 renewed for Tax Period 2021 – 2022 is August 31st.

FORM 2290 IS DUE TO THE IRS BY AUGUST 2, 2021 FOR VEHICLES FIRST USED SINCE JUNE 2021
HVUT Form 2290 is required on the last day of the month after the month in which the vehicle was initially put into service, according to federal law. For nearly everyone in the trucking sector, completing Form 2290 has always been a time-consuming task. By submitting this form electronically, you may bypass the long line and obtain your Schedule 1 in a matter of minutes, rather than weeks.
Gentle reminder to all the truckers in the Trucking Industry across the Nation, it is mandate to have the Schedule 1 copy on your vehicle at all times and it is that time of the year to renew and complete the Tax Form 2290 for the tax period July 2021 – June 2022. The Pro-Rated deadline for the vehicles first used in the month of June, 2021 is before August 2nd, 2021. Be sure to have the vehicles reported to avoid Late filing charges/ penalties.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man. A Good News for all tax payers who are waiting on Stamped Copies for their vehicle renewal. The IRS has just resumed operations and are accepting and processing pending returns. The IRS was shut down for year-end maintenance just after Christmas, they were closed since the 26th of December and have just resumed operations. We would like to also appreciate your patience during this shutdown period. E-file now and receive much needed Stamped copies and pending quarterly filings within a few minutes.

It’s that time of the year again and it’s already beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎅🏼, with the holiday season just a few weeks away we would also like to keep you reminded that the IRS E-file services would be closed for year-end maintenance, any return transmitted during the shutdown period beginning from December 25th will only be processed once the IRS is operational sometime in the first week of January 2020. The shutdown period would begin at 11:59 a.m. Eastern time, Saturday, December 26, 2020, to prepare the system/servers for the upcoming 2021 Filing Season.
