New Year promises to be an exciting and busy time for all of us. With so much going on this holiday season, there is just too little time for us to be prepared for the upcoming tax deadlines that begins from January 2020. So we bring you this blog to help you get organized for the month in advance:

  • Form 2290: January 31st, 2020 is the Deadline to E-file your Federal Excise Tax Form 2290 for Vehicles first used in the Month of December 2019 since July 2019.
  • Form 720: Federal Excise Tax Form 720 for the Fourth Quarter of 2019 is due by January 31st.
  • IFTA: International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA), for the Fourth Quarter of 2019 is also due by January 31st.

E-file through www.Taxexcise.com  / www.Tax2290.com  to avoid complicated tax calculations and confusing tax Jargon’s.

Important E-filing Notice: The IRS e-file system is currently shut down beginning Thursday, December 26, 2019 for year-end maintenance and will not be available until they open for e-filing in January 2020. The IRS hasn’t announced the opening day for e-filings but they are usually operational from early-to mid-January.

You can still e-file your tax returns using our website during the Business shut down, we’ll hold your return and transmit it to the IRS when they open for e-filing. But if you need the acknowledgments during the shutdown, we suggest you to paper file your tax returns instead.

The IRS may not be available to assist you during the shutdown period but Taxexcise.com and its Tax Experts will be available to assist you even during the Production cutover time. Feel free to reach our Team @ 1-866-245-3918 or write to us in support@taxexcise.com or ping them using the LIVE CHAT option available on the website.

Important information for all our CPA customers:

Preparer tax identification number (PTIN) applications and renewals for 2020 are now being processed by the IRS.

All the CPAs who are e-filing federal tax returns for clients must have a valid 2020 PTIN before preparing returns. All enrolled agents must also have a valid PTIN.

PTIN Renewal or First-time PTIN applicants can obtain a PTIN online from the link https://rpr.irs.gov/. But if you prefer to use the paper option, use Form W-12, IRS Paid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) Application (PDF). Contact the PTIN helpline for PTIN related questions.

Happy and Safe Trucking!

Merry Christmas Folks, E-File Form 2290 before the IRS Shutdown

Christmas time is here or as we like to call it, “The most wonderful time of the year”. As the holiday season is a few days away we at taxexcise.com would like to wish you a Merry Christmas filled with peace, love and Joy. Christmas is all about doing a little something Extra and our truckers do not fail to impress us by doing what they do best which is to spread the Christmas cheer. This holiday season we would like to wish all those away from home busy delivering presents a Merry Christmas, after all the happiest people are those who make others happy.

A message to all our Santa’s of the trucking industry, your license to be in business this Christmas is the IRS Form 2290 which should stay compliant with the IRS regulations in order to deliver your bag of presents. Although the IRS states that your pro-rated Form 2290 is due by December 31st for new vehicles first used in November we strongly recommend you to file before the Christmas holidays begin as the IRS E-file services will not be operational from December 25th until the first week of January.

The IRS may not be available to assist you during this shutdown period however any tax return filed during the Shutdown/Cutover time will be held securely in our servers and the IRS stamped Schedule-1 copy will be made available once the IRS is up and running. Hence do E-file before December 25th if you do require the Schedule-1 copy ASAP.

Our Tax Experts at www.TaxExcise.com / www.Tax2290.com will also be available to assist you even during the Production cutover time. Feel free to reach us @ 1-866-245-3918 or write to us @ support@taxexcise.com you can also drop us a message on the LIVE CHAT option available on our website.

Happy and Safe Trucking!

The IRS e-file shut-down is scheduled to begin December 26, 2019, e-file your Form 2290 for November used vehicles now!

e-file Form 2290 before IRS shutdown to receive stamped sch.1 copy within minutes.

Does Santa use a reindeer or a truck? We believe that our truckers are Santa Clauses in disguise. This holiday season with Christmas around the corner we would like to appreciate the trucking community who would be spending this busy season in making millions of families happy, after all the best gift around the Christmas tree is the presence of family wrapped in love, we at Taxexcise.com would like to wish our Santa’s a Very Merry Christmas.

And we would also like to remind you to not miss out on the December 31st deadline for any new vehicles first used in November.

We also hope that you are aware that just after Christmas the IRS will be shutting down operations for a routine maintenance, so be sure to file your 2290’s before their downtime.

The IRS E-file Servers will be shut down for Year-End Maintenance every year by Christmas to prepare their systems for the upcoming Tax Year’s Filing. The IRS has posted it on their official website www.irs.gov that the MeF Production Shutdown/Cutover is scheduled to begin at 11:59 a.m., Thursday, December 26, 2019, to prepare the system for the upcoming 2020 Filing Season.

During the Shutdown period, the IRS will not accept or process any E-filed tax return. Though the IRS servers will be down, www.Taxexcise.com / www.Tax2290.com – Product of ThinkTrade Inc., will continue to accept tax returns. The tax returns that are filed during the Shutdown/Cutover time will be held securely on our servers and will be submitted to the IRS once their Servers are up and running, which is expected ONLY by the first week of January 2020.

Truckers, Trucking Companies & Tax Preparers who have returns to file for the Month of December are advised to E-file their Heavy Vehicle Use Tax Form (HVUT) Form 2290 before Christmas Weekend so that you won’t be bothered by the E-file Shutdown.

The IRS may not be available to assist you during the shutdown period but Taxexcise.com and its Tax Experts will be available to assist you even during the Production cutover time. Feel free to reach our Team @ 1-866-245-3918 or write to us @ support@taxexcise.com or ping them using the LIVE CHAT option available on the website.

Now e-filing Form2290 is even simpler with our new “Clone Return Option” that lets you complete your filing in just one click.

With the Christmas holiday season upon us, it’s about time to register your vehicles and renew the license plates to hit back to the public highway doing what you really best at, delivering America all they need to celebrate Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve is always a time of family and we wish every trucker out there gets some family time this Christmas eve.

To register the vehicle at the DMV, one needs to be up to date on the Form 2290 sch.1 which can be obtained by filing HVUT Form 2290 and the best way to do it is electronically that’s fast, accurate and very simple. If you’re a returning user to TaxExcise.com, you would attest to the fact but if you’re setting yourself up for the first time with us, you will know e-filing is the right approach from your firsthand experience.

Now the question is whether your taxes should be paid in full or pro-rated? This depends on the first used month of your vehicle, if you have used your vehicle on the public highway for the first time in the month of November 2019, you would only be paying the partial taxes also known as pro-rated tax for the period November 2019 – June 2020. The deadline to pay this pro-rated tax due to the IRS is the last day of the following month from the first month of use. Meaning, December 31st is the deadline to report your November used vehicles on the Form 2290 and pay the pro-rated tax due. And it is also advisable to have these vehicles reported before the long holidays so you could beat the holiday rush and also avoid any last-minute hiccups.

If you had missed your Form 2290 annual renewal by August 31st for your existing fleet, you’re already past due the deadline and should be paying your tax due in full to the IRS at the earliest possible for the tax period July 2019 – June 2020 to avoid hefty penalties levied by the IRS for late filing and late payment.

We at www.TaxExcise.com / www.Tax2290.com have constantly kept introducing new features that allow our users to have a less time consuming and user-friendly experience while using our website to e-file their HVUT Form 2290. One such feature newly introduced is the “Clone Return” option that allows you to duplicate your previously filed tax return and saves you the hassle of re-entering the same information all over again. Now e-filing Form2290 is even simpler with cloning option that lets you complete your filing in just one click.

We understand our customer’s needs and we work through it to reach our every customer’s level of satisfaction, there is no Full Stop in serving you with our best high standards. Happy and Safe Trucking!

Happy Thanksgiving from Tax2290 to all the truckers and OTR drivers

“We are thankful for you”

This Thanksgiving we’re grateful for each and every truckers and OTR drivers out there who are away from home on the highway on a solitary journey to deliver our thanksgiving food to our table and store shelves.

Holidays are just another working day for the truckers and the OTR driver, this makes it difficult for them to spend some quality time with the family to celebrate holidays and other important family events such as the anniversaries, birthdays, child’s first milestones and many more, which other families happily celebrate together.

So we here at Tax2290 take this opportunity to wish all you drivers and everyone from the trucking industry a great Thanksgiving, with some awesome family time. The next morning, we will be thanking you again for all our favorite gadgets and great products that we can buy on the Black Friday sales, just because you haul them all.

www.Tax2290.com / www.TaxExcise.com will always be at your service for all your Form 2290 needs so that you can keep on trucking because we would be nothing without you trucking!

Feel free to reach our Tax Experts for assistance on your next Form 2290 e-filing that is due December 2, 2019, for vehicles first used on a public highway in October 2019, @ 1-866-245-3918 or support@taxexcise.com or Live Chat option, available on the website.

Have a HAPPY & SAFE THANKSGIVING and Keep On Trucking!
