“Celebrate endings—for they precede new beginnings.” —Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Yet another year to start as time passes by, like an instant we forget to remember things that we ought to do. One of those things is taxes! Yeah, the taxes you hear it right. Amongst the busiest of jobs is what you do constantly on the road to deliver your goods, your prime focus will be on your job but not on anything else. “You need to get it done!” Not to worry, we are here to remind you of anything relating to your trucking needs.

We hope you had a great start of the year and spending time with your families after months-long trips. It’s time to renew your taxes and a total of three things need to be done before the month-end. Do you have a new truck that you bought in the month of December? Well your prorated HVUT Form 2290 taxes are due by January 31st, 2020. And so the Q4 season to renew your IFTA’s and 720 taxes, for the 4th quarter of October 2019 to December 2019 is due by the same date as well. What are you waiting for? Go ahead and report them now instead of rushing up at the last moment. E-file through www.Taxexcise.com  / www.Tax2290.com  to avoid complicated tax calculations and confusing tax Jargon’s that comes with these Tax Forms.

Also, the IRS servers are still under shutdown for server maintenance since December 26, 2019, but they will resume services starting January 7th, 2020. And any returns filed during the time break and in the next couple of days, your schedule-1 copies will be processed on January 7th, 2020. Important E-filing Notice: The IRS e-file system is currently shut down beginning Thursday, December 26, 2019 for year-end maintenance and will not be available until they open for e-filing in January 2020. The IRS hasn’t announced the opening day for e-filings but they are usually operational from early-to mid-January.

You can still e-file your tax returns using our website during the Business shut down, we’ll hold your return and transmit it to the IRS when they open for e-filing. But if you need the acknowledgments during the shutdown, we suggest you to paper file your tax returns instead.

The IRS may not be available to assist you during the shutdown period but Taxexcise.com and its Tax Experts will be available to assist you even during the Production cutover time. Feel free to reach our Team @ 1-866-245-3918 or write to us in support@taxexcise.com or ping them using the LIVE CHAT option available on the website.

Important information for all our CPA customers:

Preparer tax identification number (PTIN) applications and renewals for 2020 are now being processed by the IRS.

All the CPAs who are e-filing federal tax returns for clients must have a valid 2020 PTIN before preparing returns. All enrolled agents must also have a valid PTIN.

PTIN Renewal or First-time PTIN applicants can obtain a PTIN online from the link https://rpr.irs.gov/. But if you prefer to use the paper option, use Form W-12, IRS Paid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) Application (PDF). Contact the PTIN helpline for PTIN related questions.

We are always interested in suggestions that would allow us to improve upon our already high standards and encourage you to submit your thoughts here:  https://g.page/Tax2290/review

Happy and Safe Trucking!

Happy Halloween Tax Deadline! – Don’t Miss These Taxes.

Hundreds of years ago, people dressed up as saints and Ghost and went door to door to trick or treat , which is the origin of Halloween costumes and trick-or-treating, no matter how old you are or how many times you’ve been around the block, the holiday simply never gets old. The kids get the chance to dress up and enjoy the horror and fun of the event and the adults have an excuse to sip on a boo-zy Halloween cocktail.

On Halloween, it is believed that ghosts come back to the earthly world, and out of the fear that people would encounter ghosts if they leave their homes people would wear masks when they leave their homes to avoid being recognized by these ghosts after dark so that the ghosts would mistake them for fellow spirits.

Interestingly, this holiday has come to stay but with some modification and civilization, now Halloween is more of a social event that brings family together while trying to replicate a scenario where they hilariously dress up and scare each other, attend Halloween cocktail party and find the beauty even in the scary and haunted activities of the holiday.

But you know what else is scary? Missing the IRS deadline to file your Excise tax return. Halloween is celebrated on 31st of October every year and so is the deadline fixed by the IRS to file your excise tax return Form 720, IFTA and the Heavy Highway Vehicle Used Tax return Form 2290 for any truck that is put into service in September 2019.

Log on to WWW.TAXEXCISE.COM / WWW.TAX2290.COM to e-file the below tax forms due by October 31, 2019:

  • Quarterly Federal Excise Tax Form 720: to report for the 3rd Quarter of 2019
  • HVUT Form 2290: due ONLY for vehicles First Used in the Month of September 2019, and
  • International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA): to report for the 3rd Quarter of 2019.

Now while we celebrate Halloween, with all the dress Costume, Trick and Treating, the Lamp and the Ghost including the candies and all the sugar rush that is involved, we should remember to get our excise returns filed on time to avoid the horror of dealing with the IRS penalty and Interest for late filing and payment.

In the spirit of Halloween, we at www.TaxExcise.com would like to remind you that we are dedicated to make your Halloween celebration this year a little less scary, with our online application giving you the opportunity to file your return easily at the comfort of your home or office, giving you one less thing to worry about during this Halloween season, and with our Tax Expert always at your disposal you are guaranteed of a smooth and hassle-free experience with us.
